A former WWE star has explained the genius of Paul Heyman after working with him in ECW and on SmackDown.
Still an ever present figure on WWE TV after over four decades in the wrestling industry, Paul Heyman’s legacy is undisputed, with his contributions to the business recognized in 2024 when he was inducted into the 2024 WWE Hall of Fame class.
One star who had plenty of experience working with Heyman both in ECW in the 1990s and early 2000s, and on SmackDown during the “Ruthless Aggression” era of WWE was Nunzio aka Little Guido, and during an appearance on Rewind Recap Relive, he was asked what made Heyman such a “genius”.
Nunzio said:
“It’s just natural. He has a way to just get into your mind and make you believe a character that he has in his mind and he could pump you up. Not everybody has that.
“I don’t know exactly what gives him that drive but just the way he is, the way he talks, his mannerisms and stuff like that. He’s the biggest mark out of all of us, in a good way, we’re all marks. He’ll tell you.”

Heyman is now aligned with Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed in WWE, with the trio recently turning their back on Seth Rollins on the October 13 episode of Raw after he suffered a separated shoulder at Crown Jewel 2025.
