Former WWE Star ‘Hoping’ To Make AEW Debut

A former WWE star has said that they are ‘hoping’ Tony Khan brings them to AEW ahead of an upcoming championship match.

On this week’s AEW Dynamite show, it was announced that Mercedes Mone would be set to defend her TBS Championship against NJPW STRONG Women’s Champion Stephanie Vaquer in a title vs. title match at Forbidden Door.

However, both women will need to keep ahold of their titles before then, with Mercedes defending the TBS Championship against Zeuxis on this week’s Dynamite show, while Stephanie defends the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship against La Catalina at CMLL’s Fantasticamania Mexico event on June 21.

Catalina formerly appeared in WWE, where she wrestled on Raw in 2019 as Carolina, the partner of Sin Cara during his feud with Andrade and Zelina Vega, before returning to NXT under the name Katrina Cortez.

Taking to Twitter to react to Tony Khan advertising her match, Catalina said that she is ‘hoping’ Tony brings her to AEW soon.

She wrote:
