Former WWE star Javi (Javier Bernal) has opened up on the competitiveness he has with his wife Tatum Paxley.
Former WWE NXT star Javier Bernal was among those released by the company back in May 2025 after four years with the company.
Bernal is the real-life husband of reigning NXT Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley, and he has now opened up on the competitive nature of their relationship.
Tatum Paxley Is ‘Very Generous’ Says Husband Javi
Speaking to Love Wrestling, Javi was asked about whether there is any competitiveness between he and his wife, with him noting that they bounce ideas off each other all the time.
He said:
“Because our worlds are so different, women’s wrestling and men’s wrestling are two worlds apart, we’re never competing in that regard, but we are always, she’s always asking me ‘what should I do here’, and sometimes like ‘what would be a good character idea’, we’re always asking each other what should we do.
“Sometimes I tell her she steals my stuff, sometimes she tells me I steal her stuff, that’s probably as much as the competitiveness goes. What’s mine is hers, she’s very generous.
“As far as competitiveness goes, that’s as far as it goes. When it comes to the wrestling stuff we are always asking each other ‘what should we do here’. She’s always asking me for ideas, I’m always asking her for ideas, so it’s a very creative household.”

Tatum Paxley’s WWE Main Roster Future
Tatum Paxley has seen a huge rise in NXT over the past year, with her capturing both the NXT Women’s Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship.
Tatum became only the second woman in history to do so behind Stephanie Vaquer, who is set to enter her first WrestleMania as Women’s World Champion this Saturday, so the sky is also the limit for Tatum when she makes the main roster.
Along with following in Stephanie’s footsteps, Tatum has a built in story with Lyra Valkyria following their friendship on NXT television during Lyra’s time on the brand, so the transition to the main roster should be smooth for her when the time comes.
