A former WWE star has revealed that an injury has caused him to miss out on an acting role in an upcoming film.
Lio Rush was supposed to be part of the cast of the Power Rangers-inspired movie Legend of the White Dragon, which would have also starred Jason David Frank and Michael Madsen.
Of his original casting in 2020, Rush told Wrestling Inc’s Nick Hausman:
“It is actually a Power Rangers movie, so it’s kung fu times 100. They’re still casting. I’m just part of the cast.”
Since then, an injury has sidelined Rush since PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles in January, 2022.
The impact of his injury has led to a change of plan for Rush with regards to the movie.
Speaking on the Say Less with Kaz, Lowkey and Rosy podcast, Lio Rush revealed:
“Well actually, that opportunity [Power Rangers acting gig] kind of got stripped away from me because of my second injury. So yeah, yeah. I had a lot going on.
“I believe I was supposed to be one of the villains. I was gonna have a small fighting scene… I was probably fighting off one of the Power Rangers, which would have been dope. I was looking forward to that.”
