A former WWE star has shared his original vision for a current NXT tag team via an unseen debut vignette that never made it to television.

In September 2023, after months of competing as a pairing at NXT live events and on NXT Level Up, Bronco Nima and Lucien Price debuted the team name of OTM (Out The Mud).

Flanked by former WWE star Sidney Akeem (fka Reggie & SCRYPTS), of whom they had first aligned with in July that year, and soon adding Jaida Parker, the group brought an act that was very different from others on the brand, with Akeem in particular seeing a big character shift from what fans had been used to seeing from him in his WWE tenure up until that point.

While Nima and Price remain together to this day as OTM in WWE NXT – continuing as a team beyond Akeem’s WWE departure in June 2024 and with Jaida Parker no longer associated with them – Akeem has now taken to social media to share his original idea for OTM via a previously unseen vignette.

The vignette in question sees Akeem sit across from Nima and Price, with the 32-year-old tapping into his real-life upbringing, as well as addressing his issues with his past WWE gimmicks and them not representing “who he is or where he comes from”.

In the caption of the post, Akeem revealed that he was the one who “hand picked” Nima and Price for OTM, writing the script for the video, as well as filming it himself, but what made it onto TV in the end wasn’t accurate to his original creation.

Akeem wrote:

So I had an idea for a group. I wrote the script, hand picked Bronco and Lucien and had it filmed.

This was OTM!

Needless to say to say, creative loved the idea. But what was presented on tv wasn’t what I created.

I don’t point blame but I only imagine what could have been. #otm

Since his WWE departure Akeem has continued to wrestle for the likes of GCW, ROH and TNA Wrestling, challenging for the X-Division Championship at TNA Rebellion in April.
