A former WWE star has reacted to speculation they could make an appearance in the John Cena Last Time Is Now Tournament.
The John Cena Last Time Is Now Tournament officially got underway on Monday’s WWE Raw show, with Rusev picking up the win over Damian Priest and Sheamus defeating Shinsuke Nakamura in the first matches.
Cena has teased that some names from outside the company may be set to appear in the tournament, with two mystery competitors already confirmed; one set to face LA Knight tomorrow night on SmackDown, while another will face Solo Sikoa next week on Raw.
One of the names many have speculated for a spot in the tournament is Matt Cardona, and he has now reacted to potentially entering the tournament.
Speaking to Notsam Wrestling, he said:
“What does my entrance music say? What does my gear say? What does my butt say when you read my trunks? Always ready. So I’ve made a career out of being always ready and I’ve said it for years: if the phone rings I’ll have a conversation.
“I’ve been, for the past five years, not necessarily doing everything I could to get back to WWE but of course if the opportunity presented itself I was always ready.
“So at this point it doesn’t matter who I’m against. People say ‘who is your dream opponent?’ The next opponent who’s gonna get me paid. This is a business.”
