A former WWE star and champion in the company has recalled Vince McMahon yelling at him for doing a diving move over the top rope to the outside.
There was a point in time that fans started dubbing Ryback ‘Flyback’ for utilising aerial offence such as a corkscrew plancha.
However, it sounds like Vince McMahon wasn’t as big a fan of it as everyone else, as Ryback explained on his latest podcast, saying:
“Vince yelled at me and said I am never ever to f**king do that ever again. Headset off, fire in his eyes, I go, ‘Did you hear the people?’ You [Rusev] and Seth [Rollins] were my two favorite people to work because you were so open to doing whatever. We would go out and have fantastic matches and I would go out and listen to the crowd.”
Rusev recently credited John Cena for teaching him everything he knows about wrestling, so Ryback gave his thoughts on Cena too, saying:
“I put John over, professionally, all day long because you’d be in the ring and he forces you to listen to the crowd. Getting the most out of what you do and getting the people to react and digest things and that you don’t have to do a million things to get the loudest reaction. You can only get that from working with John. If you have a good relationship with him, and I did at one point, but once things with me and him got competitive from a financial standpoint, it changed.”
