Former WWE star Rosa Mendes undergoes surgery

Rosa Mendes, who has been working towards a return to the ring this year, recently announced via Twitter that she had torn her ACL and meniscus. The nasty injury naturally required surgery, which was scheduled for September 4.

With the due date having passed, the former diva took to Instagram to reveal the early stages of her recovery, which apparently involves crutches, a sturdy brace and a loving daughter.

In May this year, Mendes made her first in-ring appearance since 2015, teaming with Adam Rose to take on Gia Scott and Joe Keys for Maryland Championship Wrestling. The serious knee injury could sadly keep her sidelined for up to a year.

Mendes was with WWE for nine years between 2008 and 2017. During her long tenure with the company, Mendes displayed a high degree of versatility, having worked as a wrestler, manager, backstage interviewer and WWE.com correspondent. She also once made Natalya very uncomfortable on an episode of Total Divas by answering the door completely naked… it was a long, busy and often confusing career.

We at WrestleTalk wish Rosa a quick, successful recovery and the best of luck in her return to the squared circle.
