Former WWE star Shad Gaspard has been reported missing after getting caught in a strong riptide at the beach yesterday. The news was broken by TMZ who reported Gaspard and his son were caught up in the water around 4:00 pm yesterday.
Lifeguards did their best to get people out of the water but Gaspard reportedly told them to help his 10-year-old son first. While his son was being assisted, Gaspard was crashed down upon by another large wave, submerging him underwater. His son reportedly did not need hospitalization.
As reported by CBS, people searched for Gaspard until 7:30 pm before calling off the search. They are hoping he was able to make it to shore in a surrounding area.
Gaspard’s wife also shared an Instagram post encouraging anyone with information about Shad to contact 911 or message the family.
