Former WWE Star Shoots On Shawn Michaels Selling On Raw

This week on Raw, Randy Orton continued attacking WWE legends as he RKO’ed and Punted two-time Hall of Famer, Shawn Michaels. This comes after Orton attacked Ric Flair and Christian over the last few weeks.

WWE did a great job with Orton’s attacks on Christian and Flair in putting over the Punt Kick. However, many fans were unhappy with how the move was sold on Monday’s episode of Raw by Shawn Michaels.

As you can see from the clip above, even after being hit with both and RKO and a Punt Kick, Shawn Michaels isn’t fully out cold and is on his knees. Many fan have taken issue with Michaels’ selling here.

It seemingly isn’t only WWE fans who aren’t best pleased with how Michaels sold the moves, as a WWE Hall of Famer and multi-time tag team champion has taken issue with how Michaels played his part in the segment.

At the end of Raw this week, Dudley Boyz member Bubba Ray Dudley (also known as Bully Ray) tweeted his confusion about how Michaels sold the RKO and Punt Kick during the main event of the show:

Former TNA star Velvet Sky, who is also Bully Ray’s girlfriend, also took to social media to claim that Shawn had showed Randy Orton a level of “disrespect” with how he sold the attack:

“So Shawn takes Orton’s RKO PLUS punt to the head & sits himself up in the corner & tries to get up like nothing happened.Basically no selling both moves.Way to bury Randy.Then Drew takes RKO alone & stays down selling like ur supposed to. Complete disrespect to Orton by Shawn

“When u take someone’s finish, it’s more than just your face u sell. Imagine for instance, me taking Kong’s implant buster & trying to get up or crawl away, and only selling with my facial expressions. Ya just don’t do that. Its very disrespectful to the person executing the move.”

If I’m being honest, when I watched Raw, I was a little bit confused with how Michaels sold the moves. WWE has done a great job with putting over the RKO and Punt Kick, but Orton’s attack on Michaels seemed to undo that fantastic work.
