# Former WWE Star ‘Immediately’ Texted CM Punk & Finn Balor After Being Booked In First-Time Match

A former WWE star says they “immediately” got in touch with CM Punk and Finn Balor after being booked to face a legendary name for the first time on October 4.

Saturday, October 4 will see Major League Wrestling host their Slaughterhouse event in Long Beach, CA, a show that will feature former Japanese wrestling icon Satoshi Kojima take on former WWE star Bishop Dyer in the quarter finals of the 2025 Opera Cup.

Speaking with [SEScoops’ Scott Fishman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDjqRdSRn6A), Dyer discussed his communication with many of his former colleagues in WWE, revealing that he reached out to CM Punk and Finn Balor after learning that he was going to be stepping in the ring with Kojima on October 4.

*“I still have all the love in the world for WWE. They treated me amazing, my career was amazing and I still talk to a lot of the guys. They support what I’m doing.*

*“Immediately when I learned I was wrestling Kojima I’m texting Punk, I’m texting Finn Balor, guys who appreciate it and you know it was really cool to get their response of how cool that is, like ‘I love that you’re getting to do this now’.”*
