Former WWE Stars Backstage At AEW Dynamite

Three former WWE stars were backstage at last night’s AEW Dynamite tapings amid reports of interest from within the company.

Back in May 2025, NXT stars Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang of Gallus were among the names released from WWE after spending 7 years with the company as part of NXT UK and the NXT brand.

Mark Coffey and Wolfgang were former NXT Tag Team and NXT UK Tag Team Champions during their time with the company, and all three helped train The Rock ahead of his in-ring return at WrestleMania 40.

Last night, AEW Dynamite took place in Orlando, Florida, the home of NXT where numerous wrestlers reside, and there has been an update on Gallus’ status.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), all three members of the group were backstage at last night’s AEW Dynamite taping, with WrestleVotes Radio also noting that there has been pitches from various names in the company to bring them in.

Former WWE star Baron Corbin (Bishop Dyer) also made his AEW debut last night, competing in a dark match prior to the show.
