Former WWE Star’s Retirement Match Canceled?

A former WWE star’s retirement match may have to be canceled, or at least postponed, as a result of an injury.

ECW legend Sabu is currently scheduled for a retirement match against former AEW star Joey Janela at GCW Spring Break 9 during WWE WrestleMania week in Las Vegas.

However, Janela may have to pull out due to an injury.

He tweeted:

Despite my untimely injury and what that might mean for the scheduled main event of Spring Break 9, I’ll be working hard to make this the greatest independent spectacle of all time!

Who wants a match announcement? It will make feel better after leaving the doctors to see some positive commotion for my show!

When a fan proposed the possibility of Sabu retiring in a match against someone else, Janela replied:

If I’m not wrestling on the show Sabu won’t be wrestling on the show, as simple as that. Even if I’d have to create a new Joey Janela spectacle show for summer. That match belongs to me and I don’t deserve to have it taken from me..

I’ve sacrificed too much not to be selfish this time..

This Saturday at GCW The Coldest Winter 3, Janela will present Sabu with his Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame award, which he was planning to do at Spring Break 9.
