A group of former WWE stars recently held talks with All Elite Wrestling following their recent WWE departures.

Former WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and MVP left WWE last month, when the pair’s contracts expired with no agreement between the two sides being reached.

Prior to their departure, it was reported that Lashley and MVP, as well as Shelton Benjamin, were hoping to reunite the Hurt Business outside of the company, likely in AEW.

Shortly following their departure, Totally Harmless Concept LLC, a company that had previously filed trademarks for MVP’s ring name and other related terms, filed trademark on ‘The Hurt Syndicate’.

In an update on the group’s future from Fightful Select (subscription required), there have been discussions, and even plans made, to continue a faction similar to the Hurt Business outside of WWE.

Specifically, Fightful has heard that AEW has had discussions with Lashley, MVP and Benjamin in recent weeks, but had not been told that a deal was done or imminent.

AEW is set to host it’s first-ever Tag Team Casino Gauntlet match, which fans have speculated could see the debut of the group, though Fightful had not heard of any planned involvement in the match.

We’ll keep you posted with any further updates.
