Former WWE Star Says WrestleMania London Is Direct Reaction To AEW All In WWE

Former WWE star Mark Andrews says WrestleMania London is a direct reaction to AEW All In at Wembley Stadium.

WWE has not held a major pay-per-view at Wembley Stadium since SummerSlam 1992. In 2023, All Elite Wrestling announced the company would run Wembley for their All In event in August.

The show proved to be a huge success, with a reported crowd of over 80,000 fans. The event was such a success that the promotion announced they would return to Wembley Stadium this August.

However, WWE are also looking to run a big stadium show in London, with Triple H recently meeting with London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

Speaking with Sean Thorne of The Winning Edge Podcast from Casino.org, former NXT UK Tag Team Champion and owner of ATTACK! Pro Wrestling Mark Andrews was asked if he thought WrestleMania London was a direct reaction to AEW running Wembley Stadium. He answered:

“100% I mean, let’s look at the history books, right? I think it’s kind of pretty proven from the last well, 10 years, the WWE definitely, sometimes misses the boat, and then last minute, reacts a little bit, you know what I mean?”

“That’s not me kind of trying to insult the company, because they’re, they’re the biggest company in the wrestling world, right? And I think sometimes that they probably have so many plates spinning, they miss things.”

“In my opinion, I’m surprised how long it’s taken up to get to this because, AEW, they sold out Wembley last year at ALL IN.”

“And it’s only now, after the second ALL IN is happening in Wembley that the rumours are coming around about potentially having WrestleMania in London.”

“Fans have been wanting it for years, especially in London. So yeah, it feels crazy to me that it’s kind of taken this long, if I’m honest, but I definitely think it’s a direct reaction to how well AEW is doing in the UK.”
