A free agent is reportedly interested in a move to WWE having already held talks with AEW President Tony Khan.
In early January it was reported that several NJPW stars’ contracts were due to expire, with notable stars such as David Finlay, Gabe Kidd and Zack Sabre Jr. all potentially set to enter free agency.
On February 18 it was reported by Fightful Select that these stars’ contracts had expired last month, however, NJPW were in negotiations with them regarding new deals.
Now an interesting new update has emerged on former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Kevin Knight, who also saw his NJPW deal expire in January.
According to Fightful Select Knight held talks with AEW’s Tony Khan and Rocky Romero during his recent appearance at the February 5 ROH TV taping.
Despite working for ROH, MLW and GCW since his NJPW contract expired Knight has reportedly been discussing potentially re-signing with his former employer, but has also “expressed interest” in weighing up his potential options with WWE, to “make a better decision on his future”.
As of now there’s no word on whether talks between WWE and Knight have taken place, but we will provide further updates on his future as they become available.
