‘Free Agent’ WWE Star Set For First NXT Match In Seven Years WWE

Coming out of the 2023 WWE Draft, numerous WWE stars went undrafted by either Raw or SmackDown, and have officially been declared as ‘free agents’.

We have seen some of these free agents use their status to appear on multiple shows, such as Von Wagner appearing in the Intercontinental Championship Battle Royal as well as weekly on NXT.

On last week’s NXT show, two free agents made their way to the Performance Centre to make surprise appearances on the show; Mustafa Ali and Baron Corbin.

Ali appeared in the crowd during Wes Lee and Tyler Bate’s tag team match with the Dyad, before attacking Joe Gacy after the match.

WWE has now announced that Ali will be in action on next week’s episode of the show, when he takes on Joe Gacy.

This will only be Ali’s third match on the brand, with his most recent NXT outing being in the 2016 Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, where he and Lince Dorado were defeated by TJ Perkins and Kota Ibushi.

Ali will also be action on SmackDown this week, when he takes on Santos Escobar in a Money In The Bank qualifying match.
