AEW Dynamite did not air in its normal timeslot last week, instead moving to Friday night due to the NBA Playoffs. As a result, the viewership for the show was down significantly.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reported the viewership figures earlier today on Twitter. He said:
“AEW on Friday did 526K an 0.20 in 18-49. As expected much lower than they’ve ever done.”
As Meltzer says, this was to be expected due to the change in day and time.
AEW Dynamite itself featured the biggest crowd back since the start of the pandemic. The live crowd got to see a number of segments for the Double or Nothing go-home show. MJF and The Pinnacle attacked Dean Malenko and The Inner Circle to send the show off the air.
Meanwhile, AEW also presented Hikaru Shida with a new AEW Women’s World Championship belt earlier in the night.
