FTR’s Opponents For NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 Revealed

The opponents for AEW stars Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler of FTR at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 have been revealed following World Tag League.

The #1 contenders to FTR’s IWGP Tag Team Championship have now been determined, with Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI of Bishamon facing off against Mark Davis & Kyle Fletcher of Aussie Open during the World Tag League tournament finals.

Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI were ultimately victorious, winning the tournament and earning a Wrestle Kingdom 17 title shot.

Bishamon have now won World Tag League twice in a row, after defeating Evil & Yujiro Takahashi to win the 2021 iteration of the tournament.

FTR notably won the IWGP Tag Team Championship in June at the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door crossover event.

Harwood & Wheeler most recently defended the gold against former champions Great O-Khan & Jeff Cobb at the November 5 NJPW Battle Autumn show.

The duo recently suffered a major defeat, losing the ROH Tag Team Championship to The Briscoes at the ROH Final Battle pay-per-view.

FTR will not be the only AEW stars in action at the January 4, 2023 event, with Kenny Omega set to challenge for Will Ospreay’s IWGP US Championship at Wrestle Kingdom 17.
