AEW president and CEO Tony Khan and the FTR tag team of Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood have gone back-and-forth on Twitter over contractual matters.
It started when AEW revealed this week’s updated rankings, and of course the tag team rankings are of particular interest to Wheeler and Harwood.
The rankings for the tag division are as follows, with Adam Page and Kenny Omega current champions:
- Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson)
- Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent?)
- Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson)
- Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy & Luchasaurus)
- Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen)
Harwood then chipped in saying that FTR will make their decision today, which could mean they’ll be making some kind of announcement on Dynamite. Wheeler added: “We told you what we want. Check off the checklist and we’re ready.”
As of the latest reports, FTR have been working with AEW on a “handshake” basis and aren’t tied to contracts. It would seem this public exchange is part of an angle rather than legitimate so we’ll see if it plays out on TV later.
