Earlier today, reports emerged that AEW stars had been told that Malakai Black was granted his conditional release from the company after his initial request was denied.
Black teamed alongside Brody King and Buddy Matthews in a losing effort to Sting, Darby Allin and Miro, with Malakai taking the pinfall loss in the bout, as well as taking the loss to Alex Reynolds in the trios championship tournament.
Black hugged the other members of the stable after the match, before blowing a kiss and bowing to the crowd in what seemed to be his last appearance for the company.
With Black seemingly out of the picture, fans have wondered about the future of the House of Black stable in AEW, and we may have got some insight into that future ahead of tonight’s Dynamite.
In the matches that were taped for AEW Dark: Elevation ahead of tonight’s Dynamite in Buffalo, Brody King and Buddy Matthews took part in a tag team match, with Julia Hart in their corner. Malakai was not present for the bout.
