Former Raw tag team champions Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson have been pulled from all upcoming live events, a week after it was announced they had rejected a new WWE contract.
A report from PWInsider is suggesting the decision to do this has come as a direct result of this rejection, which is believed to have been in response to a 5-year deal offered to both men.
The report reads:
“While the two sides remain in discussions, we are told that they are not currently booked for anything beyond TV taping and PPV dates going forward. The duo have not worked WWE live events since 2/25 and last worked a dark match at a TV taping on 3/12. They last appeared on Smackdown on 2/5, losing to Shinsuke Nakamura and Rusev.”
PWInsider also reports that the reason they decided to reject the “multi-million dollar” deals was in part due to the poor booking they have received since debuting with the company in 2016.
When they do leave, they’ll be in high demand, with both men very talented workers, something the proved around the world before WWE signed them and couldn’t think of a way to book them.
The two most obvious destinations are AEW and NJPW, as they have very close links to the Bullet Club and to New Japan as former tag champions for the promotion.
