Gangrel Says ‘Never Say Never’ On Potential Brood Reunion

Gangrel, former faction leader of The Brood during WWE’s iconic Attitude Era, has teased a reunion.

The popular faction included fan favourites, Rated-R Superstar Edge, and Christian (FKA Captain Charisma), who are both riding high on WWE and AEW respectively.

Gangrel was asked whether fans could ever expect to see a reunion during a recent K & S wrestling live stream, and the vampire did not rule it out.

He said:

“No, no, I never say never, but creeping up there in age, but I’m a vampire. So, keep fanging and banging.”

Gangrel hasn’t “fanged and banged” as he puts it, for WWE since his participation in a Battle Royal marking the 15th Anniversary of Raw in December 2007.

The Brood in its original carnation made its debut in 1998. The three portrayed themselves as a group of vampires and would live up to this gimmick by entering arenas through a ring of fire and drinking ‘blood’ from a chalice that would subsequently be spat onto the crowd.

The Brood would incur wrath on their opponents with a ‘blood bath,’ where darkness would come over the arena, only for the lights to come back on with an adversary covered in ‘blood.’

Gangrel famously had dental implants to give himself fangs in order to complete the look.

Despite Gangrel’s commitment to the character, the original group was shortlived and was later revived as The New Brood with the Hardy Boyz, Jeff and Matt Hardy.

Edge recently made a throwback to this time in his career at WWE Day 1 in 2022 by entering to Gangrel’s music.

Christian is currently in full heel mode on AEW where he is involved in a long-running feud with Jungle Boy.

Gangrel has also made appearances on AEW, appearing in a spot during Matt Hardy’s match against Sammy Guevara, where Gangrel accused Hardy of being disloyal since their time in the New Brood.

Time will tell if this reunion comes to fruition, but fans of the Attitude era will no doubt be pleased to hear that it has not been ruled out.
