GCW World Title Changes Hands Following Interference From AEW Team AEW

A new GCW World Champion was crowned during Saturday’s (October 8) GCW Fight Club event, following interference from AEW’s The Firm stable.

On the show, Nick Gage challenged for Moxley’s gold in a bout with huge implications. While Moxley was putting the GCW World Title on the line, Nick Gage’s career was also on the line in the bout.

Towards the end of the bout, W. Morrissey & Stokely Hathaway attacked Moxley, who was in control of the match at that point. Morrissey chokeslammed Moxley through a barbed wire glass pane, before Nick Gage capitalised on the chaos, pinning Moxley after a choke-breaker to win the title.

Morrissey and Hathaway are part of The Firm faction. The group notably helped MJF win the Casino Ladder Match at All Out.

Following that win, MJF now holds a poker chip, which he can cash in for an AEW World Championship match at any sanctioned AEW show. Jon Moxley is the current AEW World Champion, winning the vacant gold at Dynamite: Grand Slam.

Here are the results from GCW Fight Club night one (via Fightful):
