WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg has discussed comparisons to AEW star Wardlow.
Since his rise up the ranks of All Elite Wrestling, TNT Champion Wardlow has drawn comparisons to Batista as well as Goldberg.
The comparisons to Goldberg are due to their similar entrances and dominance inside the squared circle.
Speaking with Graham Matthews of Bleacher Report, Goldberg said he considered it to be an honor to have someone compared to him.
The former WCW World Champion said:
“I understand the comparisons. I’ve heard of him for sure. I’ve seen pictures of him. I haven’t seen him work that much. Hey, man, more power to him. There needs to be more characters like that. There needs to be serious intensity out there. There’s people that slice meat. There’s people that eat meat and he needs to be eating meat…Big E is going to come into it.
I’ve never read anything about a comparison from him and how he passes judgment on it. At the end of the day, anybody that’s close to the top in their prospective business to be compared with myself. That’s an honor and a privilege.”
Goldberg has been making the media rounds to promote his WWE Biography documentary on A&E that premiered last Sunday, July 17.
Wardlow made his first successful defense of the TNT Championship with a win over Orange Cassidy on last Wednesday’s Fyter Fest Week One edition of AEW Dynamite.
