Following his announcement, a new report has provided an update on Bill Goldberg’s WWE retirement match.
At WWE Bad Blood, Goldberg made his return to the company for the first time since 2022 in an angle with World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER.
Since then, there has been speculation that the WWE Hall of Famer could make a return to the ring for a bout against “The Ring General.”
On November 2, Goldberg appeared on the SEC Network ahead of the NCAA Florida vs. Georgia game and announced that he will have his WWE retirement match in 2025 with GUNTHER as the “frontrunner” to be his opponent, which you can read here.
In the latest F4WOnline Daily Update, Dave Meltzer reported that the potential Bill Goldberg vs. GUNTHER match is not planned for WWE Royal Rumble 2025 as it stands right now. He wrote:
“Regarding the Bill Goldberg vs. Gunther match, we don’t have a date for it but were told it was not planned for the Royal Rumble show as things stand right now.”
GUNTHER last wrestled in a loss to Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes for the first-ever Men’s Crown Jewel Championship at WWE Crown Jewel.
Goldberg recently addressed his confrontation with GUNTHER at Bad Blood, which you can read at this link here.
