A member of the McMahon family has seen a recently-released movie they produced nominated for two Golden Globe awards.
Produced by Marissa McMahon, Train Dreams stars Joel Edgerton, Felicity Jones, William H. Macy and Kerry Condon and was released on Netflix last month.
Marissa’s husband, former WWE executive Shane McMahon, congratulated her for “producing such a beautiful film” following its release on Netflix.
The movie has now seen further praise in the form of two nominations for the 2026 Golden Globes.
Train Dreams received a nomination in the category of ‘Best Original Song – Motion Picture’ for the title track by Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner.
Other songs to be nominated were Dream As One from Avatar: Fire and Ash, Golden from KPop Demon Hunters, I Lied To You from Sinners, and No Place Like Home and The Girl in the Bubble both from Wicked: For Good.
The movie would also see Joel Edgerton nominated in the ‘Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama’ category.
Edgerton would be nominated alongside Dwayne Johnson (WWE’s The Rock) for The Smashing Machine, Jeremy Allen White for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, Michael B. Jordan for Sinners, Oscar Isaac for Frankenstein and Wagner Moura for The Secret Agent.
Based on the novella by Denis Johnson, Train Dreams was directed by Clint Bentley, who co-wrote the script with Greg Kwedar and charts the life of a logger who works to develop US railroads, while struggling to find his place in the changing world.
The 83rd Golden Globes takes place on January 11, 2026 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Shane McMahon recently attended John Cena’s final appearance on WWE Raw, but was not shown on camera.
