WWE has shared a video capturing NXT star Grayson Waller’s awesome reaction to his main roster call-up in the WWE Draft.
For a long time, notable WWE names including Shawn Michaels and The Miz have touted Grayson Waller as a future WWE main-eventer.
Waller is now one step closer to realising this, after getting called up to SmackDown during the WWE Draft.
In an interview segment following the announcement, Waller cut an entertaining promo, noting that he’s not surprised that he was drafted, but was shocked it took SmackDown this long to pick him up.
Throwing shade on the NXT stars who were also in the room, Waller noted that the people behind him didn’t get him to where he is, he did.
After burning his bridges, Waller celebrated his call-up with a ‘shoey’, drinking from a shoe, a celebration popularised by several other Australian athletes and motorsport racers.
It is possible that this entire segment was improvised on the spot, following a previous report indicating that some NXT call-ups legitimately didn’t know about their main roster plans until their draft announcements.
