Guinness World Records has reacted to the pop CM Punk received from the Chicago crowd for his AEW Debut on Rampage this past Friday.
It was one of the most anticipated debuts/returns in wrestling history, and the fact it was in Punk’s own hometown just made it that much more incredible.
The crowd almost completely drowned out Punk’s Cult of Personality entrance music, so much so that Guinness had to make a comment.
On AEW’s official YouTube video of Punk’s entrance, Guinness World Records wrote: “Biggest wrestling pop world record anyone???”.
Guinness then took to Twitter to clarify: “This isn’t something we would be able to monitor properly but boy was that reaction crazy”.
While it might not be able to be an official world record, this does go to show the kind of attention Punk’s return is receiving and how big of a deal it really is.
