GUNTHER Comments On Being John Cena’s Final WWE Opponent

GUNTHER has commented on being the final WWE opponent for John Cena with their match taking place next weekend.

Last night on WWE SmackDown, GUNTHER defeated LA Knight in the final of the Last Time Is Now tournament to earn the right to be John Cena’s last ever opponent.

GUNTHER made Knight tap out with a Cravat – which the commentators pointed out was similar to John Cena‘s STF – and after the match, heavily implied he intends on doing the same to Cena.

Specifically, the Austrian said he wants to make Cena “give up,” a direct contradiction of Cena’s motto for many years, which has been ‘Never Give Up.’

On social media today, GUNTHER reiterated his intentions, as he simply wrote:

The match will take place at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on December 13. WWE’s official preview for the match is as follows:

At Saturday Night’s Main Event, John Cena’s Farewell Tour will come to an end when he goes head-to-head with Gunther.

In his final year in WWE, Cena has squared off in classic matchups against Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Sami Zayn, Logan Paul, R-Truth, Dominik Mysterio and more.

Gunther is considered one of the greatest Superstars today and will be an incredible adversary for The Never Seen 17.

A former World Heavyweight Champion and the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion of all-time, The Ring General reigned supreme in the The Last Time is Now Tournament to earn the right to be Cena’s final opponent, overcoming NXT’s Je’Von Evans, Carmelo Hayes, Solo Sikoa and, finally, LA Knight.
