WALTER made news at the end of last week’s (January 18) episode of NXT 2.0, when he announced a controversial name change to ‘Gunther’.
Many were confused as to why WALTER would suddenly change his name, after being known as WALTER on WWE TV for three years.
Well, WWE at least attempted to explain the reasoning on tonight’s show. Gunther said that WALTER was the name that his family gave him, that he used around the world.
He then said that he wants to create his own future with Imperium under his own name, Gunther!
