GUNTHER Shares Honest Thoughts On Current State Of WWE Roster WWE

Former World Heavyweight Champion GUNTHER has shared his honest thoughts on the current state of the WWE roster.

“The Ring General” is set to compete against John Cena in the 17-time former world champion’s final WWE match at Saturday Night’s Main Event this weekend, an opportunity that GUNTHER had to earn by winning the Last Time is Now Tournament.

Speaking to ESPN ahead of the match, GUNTHER explained why he feels now is a “very special time” for the WWE, as the company still has recognisable names from the past such as John Cena and CM Punk, as well as many younger stars waiting in the wings for a top spot of their own.

GUNTHER said:

“I think we’re in a very special time where we have a lot of those – I don’t want to say old – but the past Superstars that are still here.

“If you think about – John Cena’s there, but we still have Roman around, we have Randy around, we have Rey Mysterio around. AJ Styles is still there. CM Punk just came back.

“So I think that’s a very special situation right now, because we have a whole group of the next generation already waiting there to get to the top as well. So I think that makes it very interesting.”

Further discussing the current WWE roster, GUNTHER named Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero as two legends he “wishes” could mix it up with the stars of today:

“I think Kurt Angle would be great if he would still be here, always somebody that I really enjoyed watching. Or somebody like Eddie Guerrero.

“I think those would be guys that come to mind that would be great to have around right now.”
