Gunther’s Next Intercontinental Championship Challenger Officially Crowned WWE

Intercontinental Champion Gunther made his official debut as a part of the Monday Night Raw roster on tonight’s (May 15) episode of Raw, and his new challenger has been crowned.

It was announced that a Battle Royal would take place to crown Gunther’s next challenger, with the match featuring stars drafted to Raw in the WWE Draft, as well as most of the ‘free agents’.

The match featured the following names; Matt Riddle, Ricochet, Bronson Reed, Chad Gable, Otis, Mustafa Ali, Akira Tozawa, Apollo Crews, Baron Corbin, Akira Tozawa, Xyon Quinn, Riddick Moss, JD McDonagh, Dolph Ziggler, Johnny Gargano, Dexter Lumis, Von Wagner, Elias, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander, Angel, Humberto, ma.ce, man.soor, Erik & Ivar.

The match saw several moving parts, including new NXT call up JD McDonagh being eliminated by Dolph Ziggler, before attacking the Show Off with steel steps at ringside.

The final four of the match was Ricochet, Matt Riddle, Bronson Reed and Mustafa Ali, with Ali picking up the victory.

The match is set to take place at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia on May 27.

Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) def. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn after interference from Imperium, which had been instigated by Paul Heyman doing deals with Judgment Day and Imperium earlier in the night
