GUNTHER has commented on his iron man performance in the Men’s Royal Rumble match.
At WWE Royal Rumble 2023, Cody Rhodes came in at #30 to win the Men’s Royal Rumble match and punch his ticket for the main event of WrestleMania 39.
To finally take the victory, Rhodes eliminated GUNTHER after the Intercontinental Champion came in at #1 and lasted 71 minutes to break Rey Mysterio’s record for longest time in a traditional Rumble matches.
In a WWE’s digital exclusive, “The Ring General” discussed the Men’s Rumble and why Imperium is the standard for the company. He said:
“How do I feel? It was again up to me to step up and take responsibility to restore the honor of our precious sport. The whole way through they put the biggest obstacles in my way, the whole way through I’ve been there, and at the end, it was an error on my behalf.”
“I got to blame me for that, it’s nobody else. But like we always do in Imperium, when we fall, we get back up because we are driven by a greater good.”
“Weekend to weekend, we drive all around the country to represent this sport the way it’s supposed to be. We are Imperium and to us the mat is sacred.”
GUNTHER also added five eliminations to his impressive night and had confrontations with several stars, including Sheamus, Drew McIntyre and Brock Lesnar.
As previously reported, several stars received a great deal of praise for their performances in the 2023 Royal Rumble matches.
