‘Heated’ Backstage Confrontation Between Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair At SmackDown

There was reportedly a “heated” backstage confrontation between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair after WWE SmackDown went off the air.

Update: More details on the fallout from this story can be found at this link.

The show ended with the segment involving Flair and Lynch where they swapped their championships since they switched brands in the WWE Draft.

As per PWInsider, some moments that took place in the ring during that segment – including Flair throwing one of the belts on the ground, which was followed by Lynch throwing the other belt at Flair – were not planned.

Flair had voiced concerns ahead of the segment about not wanting to look weak and not wanting her title reign to look weak by simply swapping titles in the manner that had been planned.

When Becky Lynch left and Sasha Banks came out, the segment got back on course and is clearly building to Flair vs Banks in the future, but the situation continued when the women got backstage.

There was reportedly an issue with Flair “allegedly disrespecting Lynch by trying to make her look bad”, and there was a “heated” situation and “loud words” exchanged, but nothing physical.

It’s almost like doing a title swap was a silly idea that shouldn’t have been done in the first place, and the whole thing could have been avoided if WWE had just come up with something better for all involved.

This isn’t the first time Flair has had a ‘legitimate’ issue like this recently after the infamous Raw match with Nia Jax that completely broke down at the end of August.
