Former WWE Star Explains Why He Turned Down WWE Documentary Appearance WWE

Former WWE star Heath Slater has addressed the shelved documentary that was due to cover his former faction, The Nexus.

The original Nexus faction featured Wade Barrett, Daniel Bryan (Bryan Danielson), Darren Young (Fred Rosser), Ryback, Michael Tarver, Justin Gabriel (PJ Black), Heath Slater and David Otunga.

Many of them have gone on to greater success and recognition in the world of pro wrestling.

Even CM Punk was a one-time member as he appointed himself the leader of the New Nexus in 2011 after disbanding his Straight Edge Society.

It was previously reported that a documentary on the faction was in the works. However, this project was shelved.

Speaking on the Cultaholic’s Desert Island Graps podcast, Heath recalled the former faction members discussing documentary plans on their group chat:

“Brother, honestly, it’s one of those things where we have the group (text with Nexus members) but it’s probably every three-to-four months we talk, you know? Just because we’re all busy. We’re all moving, we’re all chitchatting, we’re all busy.

“But honestly, I wanna say the last chat that we did have was Darren Young (Fred Rosser) commented all of us saying, ‘Hey, did y’all get a message about the Nexus documentary that they wanna do?’

“And I just remember being like, ‘Yes, but I’m signed already so I can’t do it’ and then, I think (Michael) Tarver didn’t do it, they didn’t ask Ryback, D.B. (Bryan Danielson) was with AEW so it was like, all right, well it ain’t gonna happen.”

Heath currently holds the IMPACT tag team title with former Nexus member Rhino. They defeated Matt Taven and Mike Bennett for the titles on October 20.
