For what it’s worth, I think Cesaro is one of the most undervalued and underutilised wrestlers not only in WWE but in the entirety of wrestling. It has emerged that Cesaro is so good at his job, he prevented an NXT star from losing their job.
On the latest New Day podcast, Cesaro appeared as a special guest. During the show, Big E recalled a story where Cesaro was so good in the ring that he somehow saved Tyler Breeze’s job.
While in FCW, WWE’s old developmental brand, Cesaro worked a match with Tyler Breeze. At the time, Breeze was going by the name Mike Dalton and was apparently on the verge of being fired by higher-ups.
However, Cesaro hit Breeze with a brutal uppercut that knocked him “back to 1922”. Apparently Breeze sold Cesaro’s move so well that WWE decided against letting him go:
“To this day, he’s just really good. I feel like [he’s] underrated. This was the the ‘Dalton’ days where I just think he didn’t have anyone who was in his corner. No one really liked him or thought much of him. But I believe if I recall correctly, he was very close to being fired. People were so impressed with the way he took that bump that you (Cesaro) saved his job. Legitimately saved his job with that bump, and he’s still here today.”
You can check out the match at the link below. By all accounts, this was Cesaro’s FCW debut.

Speaking of Cesaro, the Swiss international will be in action on Friday’s SmackDown when he goes one-on-one with Daniel Bryan. As always, WrestleTalk.com will have live coverage of that show.
