It was reported last night that former Universal Champion Seth Rollins held a meeting with Raw talent before last night’s show in New York City.
The meeting was said to be about the travel delays in Saudi Arabia. The report notes that the meeting was “awkward”.
The meeting has been seemingly confirmed by Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio. Meltzer does note that Vince McMahon was also present at the meeting and spoke to talent:
“So Vince called a meeting at 3:00 PM in New York. Only the RAW crew was there and nobody said anything basically you know, for the most part. So this is the way I was told it was explained. It was explained that nothing is wrong. Everything’s fine. You know, it was mechanical problems and that’s it. There’s nothing more to say, just mechanical problems. I know people who are so vehement that’s not true to me after the meeting and ever since that was originally said. That is the story. It’s what they told the guys. I think the guys that don’t believe it were real mad and the guys who were willing to accept it, accepted it.”
Many WWE stars are reportedly furious with the company over travel delays and have told higher-ups that they do not wish to return to Saudi Arabia.
Despite this, WWE announced last night that they have extended their deal with Saudi Arabia and will be holding two shows every year in the country until at least 2027.
