On the kickoff show to WWE Super ShowDown last week, The Viking Raiders were defeated by fellow former Raw Tag Team Champions The O.C.
WWE’s recent trip to Saudi Arabia wasn’t great for Ivar and Erik, but that isn’t just because they failed to win their tag team match.
The former NXT Tag Team Champions were pulled from the live events in the days that followed Super ShowDown, with Dave Meltzer reporting in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that this is because Erik is unwell.
“Erik of the Viking Raiders got sick coming back from Saudi Arabia and was off the weekend house shows”.
It was originally reported several months ago that WWE was planning to have Viking Raiders face The AOP at WrestleMania. However, with The Street Profits now the champions, this seems rather unlikely.
Speaking of well-respected WWE teams being pulled from events, Dave Meltzer is reporting that The Revival have been pulled from the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view and replaced by Lucha House Party after refusing to sign new deals.
