Hikaru Shida Comments On Britt Baker, Toni Storm & Jamie Hayter AEW

Speaking to Sports Illustrated, Hikaru Shida commented on her epic rivalry with Britt Baker ahead of their Championship match at AEW All Out.

The first and still longest reigning AEW Women’s World Champion, Hikaru Shida, is reflecting on her rivalry with Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. in advance of their big four-way match at AEW All Out.

Reflecting on working with Britt Baker, Shida said:

“We’ve both been in AEW since the first Double or Nothing. We’ve had three singles matches, but to me, it feels like we had a lot more. But it doesn’t matter how many times we wrestle. I will spend the rest of my life wanting to beat her. That’s not just wrestling, either. I want to beat her in everything, from now until forever.”

While Shida will also be facing contenders, Toni Storm and Jamie Hayter in the match, Shida admits she is less familiar with the two of them in the ring.

Shida said:

“Toni Storm, we wrestled a long, long time ago in Japan in a tag match. She was super young and super green. The next time I saw her in NXT, she was a star. She is amazing. I’m so glad to face her on Sunday.

“And the first time I saw Jamie Hayter wrestle was also in Japan. Her style was crazy. But now she hides in Britt’s shadow. This is the time for her to show the world how great she is. I hope she does that on Sunday. That’s what I really want. If she does, that will make this match great.”

While the four competitors will be battling for a Championship at AEW All Out, the match will be for the Interim AEW Women’s World Championship.

Thunder Rosa, who recently announced she was medically unable to compete at AEW All Out, remains the AEW Women’s World Champion.
