Hikaru Shida and Serena Deeb were set for the fourth match in their series on this week’s (January 12) episode of AEW Dynamite, but the match never quite got going.

Deeb attacked Shida before the match began, attacking her knee with the steel ring steps. Serena then quickly one the match by technical submission, before continuing the assault on Shida’s knee with a kendo stick.

AEW shared the footage of Serena’s attack on Shida, which Shida herself responded to, showing off the bruising on her knee caused by Deeb’s shots.

The angle was shot as a way to write Shida off of AEW television, as she has now revealed she has returned to Japan following the show.
