*** UPDATE – WWE has reportedly been sold to the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund with plans to take the company private – read more at this link ***
Major WWE news continues to emerge after the announcement earlier today that Stephanie McMahon had resigned from the company and Vince McMahon was back in as Executive Chairman.
Since then, there has been buzz online that more huge news could be set to break imminently.
Both Bryan Alvarez and Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer are anticipating it, and now Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful has commented on what it might be.
Sapp tweeted:
Hey guys, one of hot rumors is that Saudi buyers are interested in WWE.
I’ve gained no actual information thus far to indicate this is actually happening, outside of a few vague hinting messages from people outside WWE
WWE contacts claimed to not know what the hints were about.
Let me reiterate, this is one of the things I’ve been told all the vague tweeting is about, and haven’t been given and real indication of it happening.
It’s been speculated that Vince McMahon may be looking to sell the company to someone who will commit to him being in charge, but that’s not confirmed.
Obviously stay tuned as we’ll keep you updated as all the news breaks.
