Ever since last week’s incident, there has been speculation about Charlotte Flair and her future with WWE.
People of the belief that Flair will eventually join her fiancé Andrade El Idolo in AEW saw last week as another big sign that it could be coming soon, but it might not be as soon as those people are hoping.
In the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it’s being reported that Flair still has a “long time” on her WWE contract, said to be “more than a year”.
It was also noted that said contract guarantees her seven figures annually.
So, if it’s to happen any time within the next year, it comes down to whether WWE does make the decision to release her, which, on one hand, is a possibility considering all the issues she’s been having with the roster recently, but on the other hand, she’s Charlotte Flair and one of the biggest stars there.
There’s also the question of would AEW even take her if she has this reputation of being difficult to work with backstage? Several members of the current AEW roster had similar issues in WWE and have been fine in AEW, so maybe that’s a non-issue.
