On last night’s (August 25) episode of AEW Dynamite, Chris Jericho challenged MJF to a rematch at All Out, where if he loses he will never wrestle again for AEW.
This stipulation has naturally led to speculation on the amount of time remaining on Jericho’s contract, as he signed a three-year deal back in January of 2019.
When a fan asked Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, and he said that Jericho’s contract, while it does expire in the fall, has a one-year option on it. He said:
“There’s a one-year option. So in a sense, it’s up at the end of next year. So a year and a half left.”
Jericho and MJF will do battle at AEW All Out on Sunday, September 5 on Fite TV.
