Last week on Raw, it was announced that legendary luchador Rey Mysterio had suffered a triceps injury, and it was estimated that he’d be out of in-ring action for around two months.
However, on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer is reporting that Rey is going to be out of action for six weeks. While he will miss Clash of Champions, he won’t be out for much longer after that.
This is certainly good news for WWE. With Rollins rumoured to be taking some time off over the next couple of months, Raw will need all the top stars it can get, and Rey being back in six weeks will come as tremendous news.
Despite being injured, Rey was still on WWE TV, joining his wife Angie and his daughter Aaliyah in accompanying Dominik Mysterio down to the ring for his Street Fight with Murphy. The show ended with the Mysterio family attacking Murphy with Kendo sticks.
During his promo on last night’s Raw, Rey seemed to indicate that he’ll be continuing his feud with Seth Rollins upon his return to WWE TV. For those that don’t know, their feud started four months ago back in May.
If Rey is to be out for six weeks, he’ll certainly miss the Clash of Champions pay-per-view that is scheduled for later this month, but should be back in time for Hell in a Cell, where we could see the Rey vs. Seth feud end.
