How Long Rey Mysterio Will Be Out Of Action For

At Payback, Rey Mysterio teamed with his son Dominik to take on Murphy and Seth Rollins in tag team competition. It was revealed during Raw that Rey actually suffered a torn triceps during the match.

The injury is the same one that Edge suffered back in June at Backlash during his match with Randy Orton, and there was a worry that Rey would also be out of action for a significant amount of time.

Thankfully, it is being reported by Dave Meltzer that the injury is legitimate, and while Rey Mysterio will be out of action for a few months, he isn’t facing a significant period of time off of TV:

The injury referred to on Raw involving Rey Mysterio is legitimate and did take place on Sunday night in his Payback match where he teamed with Dominik against Seth Rollins & Murphy.

WWE referred to the injury as a triceps tear and that is likely the real injury, but as of right now, it is not thought to be as serious as a full tear that would require surgery.

The word going around tonight is that Mysterio is expected out of action for two months, or maybe less, and will be able to recover through rehab and won’t need surgery.

This means that while Rey Mysterio will miss Clash of Champions as well as the October pay-per-view, he could be fit and healthy in time for Survivor Series in November. For the latest on his status, stay tuned to WrestleTalk.com.

Rey is currently involved in an on-screen storyline with his son Dominik Mysterio and Seth Rollins. It is possible that even though he can’t wrestle for the next few months, Rey remains on TV to manage his son.
