Triple H recently revealed the new World Heavyweight Championship, which will serve as the top prize on Monday Night Raw.
The inaugural champion will be determined at WWE Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia at the end of the month, and we now know how the first champion will be determined.
WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H appeared on the WWE Backlash press conference today, where he revealed a tournament for the title.
Triple H said that this week’s episode of Raw will feature two Triple Threat matches, with the winners set to face off later in the night to crown a winner from the Raw side.
The same will take place on next week’s SmackDown to determine a winner from the SmackDown brand.
The two winners from each brand will face off at Night of Champions to determine the new World Heavyweight Champion.
While not officially announced, the title being exclusive to Raw would imply that, should SmackDown’s winner become champion, they’ll be moved over to Raw.
