How Will NXT Commentary Be Handled For Recorded Shows?

Wrestling Observer Radio has reported that Mauro Ranallo and Beth Pheonix will be recording their commentary from home for the upcoming NXT shows.  This is a precautionary measure for the COVID-19 issues.

According to Ryan Satin’s sources, the production team put together a method for them to call the action from their home he reported on ProWrestlingSheet. Given that wrestling announcers are supposed to call the action from monitors to present commentary from a view similar to what the TV audience see, you’d think they could just set up a Zoom call with a camera facing the action.

However, who knows what method they came up with.

Satin says this is able to be done for NXT because the NXT commentators rarely appear on camera or, at least, a lot less often than the main roster shows.

WWE recently decided to tape batches of NXT Shows in bunches instead of having all their shows live for virus concerns. This will give the company more time to clean in between rounds of television shows.

Both Ranallo and Pheonix have young children at home. It’s a great thing WWE is protecting its announcers as much as possible.  The next set of tapings begin on May 11.
