How WWE Reportedly Feels About Rey Mysterio Contract Expiration

It was reported earlier today by Dave Meltzer that legendary Raw star Rey Mysterio is actually working without a contract after his current WWE deal (which he signed in 2018) expired.

It has since emerged that Rey has not yet re-signed with WWE after he reportedly requested a raise, a demand which Vince McMahon allegedly denied. You can read more about that by clicking here.

Rey Mysterio is currently feuding with former WWE Champion Seth Rollins. It is believed that despite not being under contract, WWE is going to book Seth vs. Rey in a rather unique stipulation match at Extreme Rules.

Many have speculated that WWE will want to get Mysterio’s situation dealt with quickly, especially considering AEW Executive Vice President Cody has publicly spoken of his desire to bring Mysterio into the company.

Well, it seems like that is correct, as Dave Meltzer is reporting that WWE higher-ups really don’t want to see Rey Mysterio leave the company. They are reportedly trying to work something out:

“It’s a very vindictive business, but at the same time Rey’s been there they don’t want him leaving I can tell you that. You know they’ve got the Dominik storyline that they’re obviously working on. That’s one of the reasons that they’re doing all this. They’re working on a deal.”
