Before signing with AEW and going on to become the first-ever AEW World Champion, Chris Jericho wrestled for WWE for several years, winning many titles in the promotion.
Jericho previously said that he’d never wrestle for another promotion in North America due to his loyalty to Vince McMahon. However, it doesn’t seem like he was being 100% truthful when he said that.
Speaking of Jericho, the former World Heavyweight Champion has commented on the possibility of him returning to WWE at some point in the future once his time with AEW comes to an end.
While speaking on his Saturday Night Special live stream on Facebook, Jericho seemed to rule out the chance of him ever returning to WWE in the future:
“It’s not going to happen. I really enjoy being in AEW. I loved my time in WWE, I love Vince McMahon, I learned a lot. I had a lot of fun, but listen, you can’t stay in the same place forever.
For what it’s worth, I actually wouldn’t be too shocked to see Jericho back in WWE in some capacity before his wrestling days are up, likely on a big-money contract.
Interestingly, one of Jericho’s WrestleMania opponents who still works for WWE, didn’t rule out the possibility of joining AEW once his current contract expires. You can more about that story by clicking here.
